چکیده
The evaluation of the interplay between kerogen maturation and total organic carbon (TOC) content within an organic-rich shale is critical to characterizing source rock shale's elastic behavior. We analysed a comprehensive database twenty-nine well logs, two 3D seismic surveys, geochemical data eighteen wells Draupne Formation in Norwegian North Sea. Upper Jurassic (Kimmeridgian) Shale found throughout Continental Shelf primary source, carrier, seal several oil gas fields. dataset explores broad range depths (2–5 km), contents (0–20 wt%), various states ranging from immature overmature. study relationship brittleness as matures. use calculated values Young's modulus Poisson's ratio. Drilling Productivity on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
Recently, we have seen falling oil prices combined with sticky costs at a high level in the petroleum industry. This cause cost cuts and project postponements, thus challenging reserve replacement of oil companies and security of supply for consumers. Costs are particularly high for drilling. High rig rates are obviously important. In new contracts for high-spec semi rigs on the Norwegian Conti...

Volcanic ash fall is the most important cause for the existence and preservation of organic rich shales. If this hypothesis is confirmed, the implications are many. Formation of organic-rich shales correlates with high water column productivity rather than anoxia. Coastal upwelling occurs in about one percent of the world's oceans today. Upwelling concentrates sediments locally or regionally an...
